Ivey Does It! 2-7 Champ Bags 6th Bracelet

Phil Ivey proved once again that he is a great all around card player, winning the No-Limit Deuce-to-Seven Lowball Championship for some $96,000 in couch change.  I was pulling for Phil to win this event I know nothing about and he ended up beating John Monnette, who Ivey revealed has a strong background in 2-7.

Find out what is duece to seven.

Judging by the field and even the announcer’s call, I don’t think I’m the only one in the dark on this card game.  There were only 147 players in this event and when the final cards were being dealt out, apparently Monnette was drawing dead because he told the announcer the hand was over with the announcer still calling the cards in suspense.

If you really want to win a WSOP bracelet, learning some of the lesser known games will take you a long way.  If you entered into this field, you were already mathematically at least a 1/150 chance of winning.
