Japanese vs. American Box Art

This is such a great look into why American marketing firms have absolutely no style and are run by frat boys. Look at the artwork on this site and you’ll see how the Japanese have a sense of style and a sense of relevance as to what is current in design.

This is the crap that gets me so angry about American gaming. It’s bad enough that we don’t get the best games out here. We also have really crappy box artists.

Some of the japanese art I do like better. But there were some on the american side that I preferred.

It is interesting to see the difference in some. I think american designers tend to make the game look more “gritty” and mean or something. Most noticeable in the “Ratchet and Clank” set.
