The Dallas Cowboys were supposed to win the division and go rolling into the playoffs with a bye in the first round. Then they got slaughtered last week by New Orleans and soundly beaten this week by Philadelphia.

Philadelphia 23 Dallas 7.

So how does a team lose a Donovan McNabb and then face all 3 of its Division opponents with the season on the line and survive? Philly not only survived, they may take the NFC East Division.

If Philly beats Atlanta at home next week, they win the NFC East.

How did Jeff Garcia do it?

Philly faced the Skins, Giants, and Cowboys in a row and beat them with a backup quarterback. That quarterback is former Brown, 49er, and Lions, Jeff Garcia. He replaced Donovan odds on league MVP until injured McNabb. Jeff has gone 4 – 1, winning the last 4 games.

Dallas is not out of it. Should they beat the lowly Lions (they better, my lie-downs need the first pick in the draft) and Philly loses to Atlanta, then the Cowboys would win the division. That scenario is not too likely.

Either way both Dallas and Philly are in the playoffs.

It is not TO’s fault

Of course, Terrell Owens claims that Tony used to be everyone’s darling Romo is not getting him the ball soon enough or often enough. Hmm, Cowboys lose, Big Tuna is unhappy and Terrell is blaming someone else. This seems familiar.
