Jillian Reynolds Won’t Be Back This Year

Now here’s the thing, I’m all for women in sports broadcasting. The trouble I have, as a woman and a sports lover, is that they never seem to add anything to the broadcast. They are always off to the side either providing irrelevant reports (”I talked to the coach during halftime and he said his team needs to score some points”) or worse, offering up something sexy, risqué, and/or cute. I want a gal who can announce the game or add color or something other than what they are doing now. (Hear me, network exec’s? And btw, I know my football, so you could always add me to the list. I have no idea how to be sexy, risqué, or cute.)

To that end comes news that Jillian Reynolds, who gave weather updates and double entendre to Fox’s show will not be back this year. She’s expecting a child at the end of December. Will anyone miss her? Nope. Is it her fault? Nope.

I mean, seriously, weather updates. It’s like some network exec took a look at her, said “We’ve got to have her! What can we have her do? The weather…. anyone can do the weather….” and put her on with “da boyz.”
