The job hunt is turning out to out to be a bit frustrating for many right now. It is a difficult job market. However, there are things you can do to increase your marketability. In addition to improving your job skills (including soft skills like writing and speaking), you should also know how to run a job hunt.

You can also work on making connections with people in the company that you want to work for. LinkedIn and Twitter are great places to go in order to work on making personal connections. In some cases, a personal connection is just what you need!
You should also remember that your personal brand is important. Some recruiters and hiring managers will do a search on you — just as you do a search on the company. Make sure your profiles are up to snuff, especially your Facebook profile. (One out of five hiring managers check the Web before making a decision).
