Job Opening: Andy Murray Coach

This little bit of news is a few days old but in light of the flurry of news and results surrounding the Masters Cup, it seemed understandable to me to push Andy Murray’s coaching decision on the back burner.

After over a year with Brad Gilbert, a coach provided for Murray by the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA), Murray has decided to relieve Gilbert of his duties. Instead of continuing to accept support from LTA, Murray has announced he will fund his own coaching needs.

“I will now hire a team of experts, each to fulfill a specified role in the development of my tennis and fitness,” said Murray.

Gilbert wasn’t knocked for his efforts with Murray; Murray is just ready to move onwards and upwards with his tennis career and evidently feels hiring a team of specialists is the route to take.

Maybe Murray is counting on his team of specialists to take him into the top 10. Maybe he’s just looking for the right combination. But if you’ve got a few tennis skills and are looking for a job, you know, drop Murray a line – he’s in the market.
