Prior to the 2009 NFL season, many experts said that Joey Galloway would be a great fit on the New England Patriots. Galloway’s speed was supposed to be a good fit to go with Brady’s arm. However, after six weeks of the season, it was obvious things weren’t going as planned. As a result, the Patriots decided to release the 37-year-old wide receiver.
Said Bill Belichick: “He’s had a great career and this is one of those things that just didn’t work out. I don’t think it’s anybody’s fault or anything that you just pinpoint.”
On the season, Galloway had seven catches for 67 yards while playing in three games. Scouts say that he had trouble learning the complicated plays the Patriots employ. And age certainly didn’t help Galloway’s cause.
It’ll be interesting to see if another team will give Galloway a shot to prove his career isn’t over. After being drafted in 1995 by the Seattle Seahawks, Galloway went on to play for the Dallas Cowboys, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Patriots.

I think I can pinpoint it: He couldn’t catch a ball when Tom Brady threw to him.
