It doesn’t matter who the opponent is or what level. A no-hitter is a no-hitter. And a no-hitter by a cancer survivor… well, that’s just great! I have to tip my cap to Jon Lester, who seems to be compiling an impressive resume at the young age of 24. If you missed the game or any highlights, I have attached a video below of the final out of the game. Again, congratulations Jon Lester. That’s one heck of an accomplishment.

Lester has had many amazing accomplishments. And adding the no-hitter just gives him one more. The thing that really gets to me is that he is a cancer survivor, and he threw a no-hitter. That is just amazing.
Here is an interesting article on Lester’s life: http://www.rootzoo.com/articles/view/MLB/Boston-Red-Sox/The-Battle-of-Jon-Lesters-Life_405
I found it pretty interesting, so I thought I would share.
Thanks so much for posting this video. I am a cancer patient and found the footage after the final out to be incredibly moving – especially Francona’s obviously emotional embrace of Lester. In addition to fighting cancer, I am a huge baseball fan (Phillies, sorry), and this is just about one of the coolest things I have ever seen.
