US District Court Judge Louis L. Stanton is the guy who told YouTube to give all your personal information and viewing history to Viacom, thus allowing Viacom to invade your privacy and probably sue you. Mail, phone, or fax him a piece of your mind.

Does someone have this judge’s e-mail address. If he can give mine to anyone in an irresponsible and totally stupid way I should be able to have his so I can tell this “judge” just what I think. In a time when identity theft is on the rise one one should have the right to my private information without MY permission. I have watched utube clips for years but have never posted anything so I am in no way part of this assassin law suit.
So if anyone has this judges e-mail address please let me know so I can tell him what I think.
Big surprise, one more Federal official appearing to sell out the American public to another giant corporation or governmental agency on a ‘fishing expedition!’
It would be one thing if the order was for information which showed the extent of the pirating problem without giving away peoples’ viewing history, but this ‘over generous’ decision is just another way to give citizens’ data to another corporation, which in turn will hand it over at some future point to the Feds, on some bogus pretext, whom will claim in turn that it is not protected, yada, yada, yada… and they will add it to the huge warehouse of personal information on the America people, whom which, they are spying on every day.
What do you think; is Judge Louis Stanton a malicious public enemy in this digital age or simply a tool in an ongoing conspiracy to undermine our collective rights and ability to control our runaway Goverment?
It is a grotesque tragedy that such a ruling which undermines the rights of the American people should be made so near the celebration of Independence day. This ruling is in violation of our constitutional rights and egregiously treasonous. As this ruling is in violation of the constitution I deem it null and advise google to resist such onerous and unlawful requests.
It is true that privacy may be surrendered under due process and with cause. However to grant the surrender in a broad and categorical way is vehemently unconstitutional.
To claim violation of property rights occurs so frequently on this medium that a categorical surrender of privacy is required is in no sense different than claiming that violation of property rights occurs more frequently in low income areas and thus granting a categorical surrender of privacy rights by means of broad and sweeping search warrants for the entire community.
The latter behavior is clearly unconstitutional. The former is likewise.

Wait a sec, you’re going after the judge, when it’s Google that’s been recording all that information about you. The judge is just ruling on the law, based on the arguments provided by Viacom and Google. Google’s argument was weak, and the judge ruled against the company in this one request.
Go after Google if you want, but don’t waste tax payer money (yes tax payer money) going after a judge who will not change their order just because you’re all Google fanboys.
First off,I agree that what Google is doing is inappropriate and they should destroy any and all personal information they have and never collect any other. Yet if they do that then they won’t be able to sell advertising as they will not have any way of showing how many and what types of people use their site.
Second, the judge is overstepping his authority, in my opinion by giving personal information to anyone except the Government. Yes, the government can collect any information it wishes. One of the “nice” new laws placed on the books after 911.
The Judge does have an e-mail address but it can only be accessed from inside the courts computer system which is not connected to the Internet. But there are always ways of making your voice heard and one of them is sending an old fashioned snail mail letter to the judge. Just remember to be polite. No matter how we feel about the man he still has the power to cause a lot of harm to any one of us or the entire Internet community as a whole. We have leaders who appoint idiots and Republicans so we should be more careful whom we elect.

I am a Canadian and I am concerned as to has anybody in the Canadian government authorized Canadian user information as well? I can assume this would be out of Judge Louis L. Stanton’s jurisdiction.
I am disgusted by Judge Louis L. Stanton’s ruling and I belive this is just another step on the road to tyranny.

I think that someone should copyright the letters ‘A’, ‘I’ and ‘O’ and if anyone from Viacom want to use these letters without violating a copyright law they will need to pay for the rights of usage. Also to make sure that there is no illegal letter usage one would have to have the same privacy law, that this idiot judge is violating, used to view ALL company emails. Also Viacom if unable to pay up will then be known as Vcm.
The Hon. Louis Lee Stanton has been found dead inside his New York apartment, police are unable to find anybody responsible.
