Jumping Into a Weight Lifting Program

Training your body to get stronger isn’t something that needs a lot of primer and prep.  You can jump right in tomorrow, just use weights you can easily handle and cover the basics.  After reading this weight lifting blog , you’ll be ready to stop holding your breath and jump right in.

A lot of people – and I mean a lot – avoid actually getting in shape because they keep waiting on the perfect time, perfect routine, right gym wear, etc.  This is road to failure 101.  The perfect time to get in shape is right now and if not right now, tomorrow.  You don’t need new shoes or an iPod to get going, just start working on becoming stronger.

If you have no clue what you’re doing, you don’t need a set program.  Just follow a basic full-body routine:

12 minutes running

3×10 push-ups

3×10 curls

3×10 squats (or air squats)

3×10 lawn mower lifts (for back)

3×10 shoulder shrugs

This workout is simple, yet touches all of your major muscle groups and has you on the path to getting stronger and most importantly in the gym and hitting the iron.

Once you move past this or if you already are, the same though process applies to a more advanced weight lifting program.  Don’t hesitate, just go.

I really like your basic full body routine. It definitely works out every single major muscle group. Great for just starting out!
