“Junior Brain Teaser” For Nintendo DS

Junior Brain Trainer has been released for the Nintendo DS and I think it looks great!  I’ve really enjoyed games like Big Brain Academy and Brain Age and, while my older kids have also had fun, it wasn’t as great for my six-year-old.

This new game is designed with 6-11 year-olds in mind and includes a curriculum aimed at developing reading, writing, spelling and math skills.  The activities range from simple “fill in the gap” word games to more complex mathematical puzzles.

Players can engage in daily challenges and mini-games which I know will be appealing to smaller gamers.  I’ve read on some sites that kids won’t willingly play this if a parent isn’t standing over their shoulder encouraging them but I really disagree.  My own children play the edutainment games without prompting.  Besides, these games are designed to be entertaining and fun as well as educational.  Hopefully, the developers have accomplished this goal.
