Kaleidoscope projector “paints” walls

Those purveyors of all things techno-kitsch in Japan have unleashed their latest must-have: a kaleidoscope projector. Seriously. The “Mangekyo Rooms” by Sega Toys projects geometric patterns onto your ceiling, walls, or floor, using a collection of colored glass pieces and a disc-shaped tray to place them on. Set your 60-minute timer, and let the good times roll.

The projector will spin on its own, slowly changing the design as you watch. Or if you don’t want those hypnotic patterns up on your wall, just turn the projector around so that it shines into the base, and you’ve got yourself an artsy-fartsy table lamp.
Hope you’ve got money to burn, because the Mangekyo Rooms will run you a little over $150, not counting international shipping.
Watch the video below to see the Mangekyo Rooms in all its relaxing glory. (The music alone put me to sleep.)
