Kangaroo TV Run Through its Paces

Ars Technica, a well-respected and popular tech blog, has an extensive review of Kangaroo TV.
For those you not familar with Montreal-based Kangaroo TV, it’s a wireless console that fans can use during sports events such as auto racing to get video as well as more information about what’s going on.
Here’s the bottom line from the reviewer, Jonathan Gitlin:
“The overall user experience was highly enjoyable. The standout for me had to be the fact that, with the earbuds in, you could both hear the commentators and get excellent noise reduction of the racing cars, far better than that achieved with foam ear plugs. Getting to hear bits of the teams’ radio traffic was also good. I know that some fans bring their own scanners to the track, but that’s a little more dedicated than I want to be, and these days they’re starting to encrypt their transmissions anyway.
If I had a complaint, it would be that it’s possible to actually spend too much time watching the Kangaroo TV, despite actually being at the track. But if you’re in seats that don’t have a view of much of the track, the Kangaroo TV would be a great addition to the race.”
