Fight the apathy and take action on this, it will impact everyone.
The Internet brings you unrestricted access to information, low-cost services, and innovative new products. You go where you want, buy what you want, and use any services you need. As long has you have an Internet connection, no one can stop you. Until now.
Giant companies, like AT&T and Verizon, that offer high-speed Internet service want the right to decide what web sites, services, and applications you can use. A few big telephone and cable companies own the lines that connect you to the Internet, so they want to use those lines to control whether and how fast you can get someplace on the Web. They plan to favor their own services, slowing your access to Internet-based competitors like companies that offer cheaper Internet-phone service, low-cost video downloads or better e-mail services.
