Kentucky’s Michael Porter and Ramon Harris collided on Wednesday during a win against Lamar.
One is scheduled to play today while the other may not play again this season.
Porter, a 6-foot-3 inch junior guard and Harris, a 6-8 junior forward both suffered serious injuries.
Porter needed 10 stitches above his left eye, but said he will play when the 5-2 Wildcats host 21st ranked Miami (4-2) later today.
Harris wasn’t so fortunate. It is being reported that he may not play again this season.
A press release from the university said Harris has symptoms of muscular pain in his neck and back and must wear a protective cervical collar.
“You’re talking about guys having tingling in their fingers and toes,” Coach Billy Gillispie said. “Basketball’s really important, but it’s not nearly as important as those kind of things.”
However, the university’s medical staff said in the release it was more optimistic that Harris could return to practice at some point this season. He has symptoms of muscular pain in his neck and back and must wear a protective cervical collar.
