Remember how I said the other day that I couldn’t understand why Kevin Costner (of all people) was partying with the NASCAR crew in New York.
Today, I have my answer.
Apparently Costner just inked a one-year gig with NASCAR to do “personal appearances and music.”
Yes, MUSIC.
What’s that? You haven’t heard of Costner’s popular Modern West band? Oh ya… he’s in a good old-fashioned country band and sings classics like “The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance“:
I mean, seriously, Kevin Costner?
When I think of NASCAR, I don’t think of Kevin Costner. Wasn’t he the guy that Madonna made fun of in the Blonde Ambition movie because he said her performance was “neat”?
Oh but wait… Costner is also “narrating an upcoming film called The Ride of Their Lives” which is about racing. So THAT qualifies him to be a NASCAR spokesman.
Gosh, it’s all so clear now.
