All of you who spend money on $20 – $100 dollar lures can obviously keep them as far as this young 14 yr. old record holder is concerned. Tyson Hallam was fishing a Kid’s Fishing Derby in an old strip pit when he caught a new Kansas state record of 11 lbs. 12.8 ounces. The record of previous has been standing for the past 30 yrs. until now and was beat out by only .8 ounces. What did Tyson catch it on? No, it wasn’t a new proto-type swimbait or a new technique derived from Japan. It was the best big bass catcher of all-time. The jig n’ pig. Look what happens when things are just kept simple.

There is a strong rumor that the boy and his father were trespassing when the caught the fish. A rumor I tend to believe as I know the land owner and as the cops were called on the morning of the catch, about a truck trespassing which belonged to the boy’s father.
