I’m so completely shocked by this news – David Carradine was found hanged in his hotel room in Bangkok which has led many to believe the actor committed suicide.  A representative of the U.S. Embassy in Thailand confirmed the death which occurred either late Wednesday or early Thursday. david carradine

The 72-year-old had a very colorful and successful career having appeared in more than 100 feature films (and being nominated four times at the Golden Glob Awards) including the Quentin Tarantino’s incredible two-part saga Kill Bill (Carradine played bill opposite Uma Thurman).

Older audiences might remember him best as the star of the 1970s TV series Kung Fu on which he played Kwai Chang Caine, a Shaolin priest travelling the 1800s American frontier from 1972-75.

Carradine came from an acting family.  His father was John Carradine and his brother is Keith Carradine (Dexter, Law & Order).

He fathered two daughters, Calista Miranda and Kansas, out of the five times he was married.  He also leaves behind his wife, Annie, whom he married on December 26, 2004.
