“Klonoa” for Nintendo Wii

Klonoa for Nintendo Wii will be released tomorrow and I’m hoping to get a chance to play it sometime this week. The series of games first appeared back in 1997 in Japan with Klonoa: Door to Phantomile being available for the PlayStation.
Several more games have been released on different consoles over the year (ranging from the PlayStation 2 to the Gameboy Advance) and now, finally, gamers will get to play it on the Wii.
While I’ve heard some critics say that the game is a little too linear or even easy, I have heard incredible things about the graphics. The game really does look vibrant and I am hoping that the environment will make up for the less challenging game play. Besides, I don’t think many people pick up a game like Klonoa for intense gaming.
The game has also been optimized for the Wii so there will be bonus stages created specifically for this version and players will have the option of using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk, Wii Remote only, Classic Controller, or GameCube controller. I really love it when they let you choose this sort of thing (not like the new Guitar Hero games that force you to use the guitar and don’t even give you the option of using the controller – ugh!).
In the game, you will help Klonoa save the land of Phantomile by some unknown evil force. I think this plot really lends itself well to allowing developers to create an incredible looking environment (especially since Phantomile was created based on the dreams of its inhabitants). I actually like the fact that this might be an easier game since younger players will be able to enjoy it as well.
