As we did for its predecessor Pure Weight Loss, FranchisePick.com and Weight Loss Complaints (http://weightloss.franbest.com) will try to keep LA Weight Loss customers and employees informed notifications of LA Weight Loss center closings, rumors of upcoming closings , refund and complaint information. Like Pure Weight Loss before it, LA Weight Loss prefers to remain silent, not return calls and ignore the inquiries of those who entrusted them with their health and financial information, not to mention hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars in prepayments.
We rely almost solely on information reported in our comments by customers and employees, so please share what you know.

See the list for LA Weight Loss centers closing in NC, SC, KY, IN, GA, CA, TN, CO, ID, MT and NE. Many of these closings are happening with little to no notice; some continue to sell long-term, prepaid contracts a week before their unannounced closings.
Contact List of State Attorneys General
If LA Weight Loss owes you services and/or products they are not providing, you should file a complaint both with the Attorney General of your home state and with the Attorney General of PA (LAWL’s home state). A number of states have already launched investigations in order to get consumers repaid.

My daughter was going to one by us here in California, but I thought they had changed their name, etc. a long time ago. We started seeing the same commercials under a new company. Thanks for the tips.
I was an Area Manager for LAWL up until 2 months ago. The entire company will close before Fall. They are closing markets in waves to avoid massive refunds.
I have a contact with LA Weight Loss in Lubbock Texas. They are a “franchise” center. Can anyone tell what is the difference between the franchised owned centers and the company owned centers? Are ALL centers under the new company name Pure Weight Loss? Are both franchise & company owned centers closing?
There are reports from vendors of LAWL Franchise Corporation that they will announce Friday (Oct. 17) that the Franchise Corporation and all LATO centers will be closed effective immediately.
What this means to franchised locations is anyone’s guess, but without the support of the Franchise Corporation, I imagine it would be difficult for the franchise stores to remain open under the name LA Weight Loss for very long.
It has been reported that refund and rebate checks from LA Weight Loss are bouncing in various markets across the US……
I spoke with Jennifer at LAWL “customer service” today. She told me the ‘blog’ sites that say they are closing all stores is totally untrue. She told me they are still producing LA lite bars and that they are readily available to franchise owners. My franchise owner told me that she was unable to get product from the company 3 months ago. I was also told that each individual must go to their respective franchise owner to get a refund and that the headquarters is “not responsible” for what the franchise owner does. I find this ridiculous. I guess they don’t care if the owner sells bars that are unavailable, sells contracts that will not be honored or anything else. I was also asked to wait a week and call this 1-877-524-3571 “customer service” number to get more info on the franchise owner. I called the number and the mailbox is full. Jennifer also told me the reason the website does not work is a malfunction. All of it is total b__ll__it. I was given an email address for my franchise owner and told that was all they had. What kind of company is this! Who is allowed to sell franchises to a person that provides an email address only? I have contacted and filed complaints with the city business licensing department, state franchise tax board, state attorney general, state dept of consumer affairs, department of corporations and franchises, the board of equalization and the IRS. Anyone else that got “taken” should do the same. These people need to be held accountable for their actions.
