Lakers to Prevail, Says EA’s NBA Live 09

According to a simulation run by EA, the LA Lakers will defeat the Boston Celtics in seven games to clean victory in the NBA Finals 2008. Although the game isn’t available until October of this year, the developers took the opportunity to have some fun with it and simmed the series in their spare time.
Laker Kobe Bryant is to lead the charge for his team, with a points per game average of 29 and 6 assists in the simulation.
NBA Live 09 got the result of the first game correct, even if the score was a little off-base, predicting a Boston victory in the opener. Boston won the second game as well, contrary to the virtual version that saw the “Lakers quiet Celtic fans at Fleet Center winning 96-90″. Game 3 went to the Lakers in both real and simulated versions of the series, with Game 4 tipping off tonight at 9pm EST.
Sim says Celtics to win at the Staples Center, with Ray Allen the team’s top scorer and the go-to guy early in the fourth quarter. Will they play out as planned? Who do you think is going to grab glory in the 2008 Finals? Make your pick in the comments below!
