Many NFL experts have speculated recently about the Larry Foote getting traded or released by the Pittsburgh Steelers. In now appears like just a matter of time before Foote is officially released by the team.

The 28-year-old Foote has played his entire career in Pittsburgh. He joined the team in 2002 and has only missed two games in his career — both in his rookie season. He has recorded 432 tackles and 14.5 sacks in 110 career games.
The Steelers will likely release Foote to make room for Lawrence Timmons, a fellow linebacker who will be entering his third year in the NFL. The 22-year-old Timmons played well last season and will move into a starting role in 2009. Cutting Foote and going with Timmons will also help Pittsburgh save money.
When Foote will be released is the biggest question. Reports early on Tuesday indicated that he was going to be released in a matter of hours. However, now the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is reporting that Foote won’t be released until after the Steelers’ minicamp.
