Play the players not the cards. With that said, what is your goal late in the tourney? Some people just want to cash as deep as possible.

If that is the case then being blinded out may be the way to go.

I have seen people fold aces preflop to ensure that they don't lose chips.

Pretty scared playing if you ask me.

When I'm short stacked (10-15 times the blinds) then I'll start drawing attention to myself and complaining how I am going to get blinded out unless I get big cards. Or how i'll only push with big hands. "God I wish I had a monster hand to push all in with" and then 3 hands later push all in wth 2/3 off suite.

The people who typically call are those with AK or AQ or AA or KK.

2/3 off suite is better then pushing with A rag in this situation or K rag etc.

I think people need to spend more time table posturing. Poker is not just a game of odds. Coercion is a big factor.

Of course the goal is not to become short stacked late in the tourney.
