Regulators Complain About Sponsorships, Incentives and Bank of America CEO’s Tie That ‘Totally Didn’t Go With His Outfit’

Hey, we’ve all been there.

The company brings in a new junior executive to micro-manage your department. The only problem: you’ve forgotten more about your job than the new politically-connected twit will ever know.

Welcome to the big, wide world of government aid to banks. With aid comes control. And, in some perverted law of the universe, somehow the same people who’ve screwed up every monopoly they’ve ever been handed are clamoring to make every decision associated with running a complex financial institution.

Which is why Dennis Kucinich is petitioning Treasury Secretary Geithner asking him to force Citibank to renege on its contract to pay for naming rights to the new stadium in New York.

You know you’re in trouble when a guy who watches UFOs with Shirley MacLaine is pressuring a guy who didn’t pay his taxes to change terms of a deal agreed upon over two years ago.

In other news, Kucinich is insisting on the right to dress bankers every morning saying, “Public perception is important. The only way we can assure that CEOs present a responsible yet understated image is for us to choose their outfits every morning.”

Hearings are being held later today to nominate Tim Gunn as assistant Treasury Secretary.
