Leipzig, Germany – Home of a good time!
Well, this week (August 18th-20th) in Leipzig, Germany is like the Olympics of game development. Why? Well, because Leipzig, Germany is home to GCDC, or for people who suck a acronyms, like I do, GC Developers Conference. Okay, so I didn’t help you figure out what the “GC” in GCDC meant, because I can’t find it on the website. But I did find out DC means “Developers Conference”, so we’re at least half way there!
Anyways, at this conference, a ton of game developers get together, eat German sausages, drink German beer and then they talk about game development. That, quite honestly, sounds like the greatest week EVER.
There are a ton of speakers from different game development companies including Sony, TellTale, Big Fish Games and a whole crap ton of other companies that have some interesting things to say for those who want to hear them. According to The International House of Mojo, TellTale Games is even going to think about doing original titles in the future, which I CANNOT wait to see. So, already on only day one of the conference, we get some good news!
So, by the end of the week, we should hear some more news from adventure games, since Germany is pretty much the adventure gaming capitol of the world. I love conferences!
