Lenovo Laptops Still Thinkpad

At work, our main brand of laptop assigned to users is the IBM/Lenovo Thinkpad. I personally have been assigned an HP laptop which I can’t say I’m overly happy with.  I like the IBM line because they are light but rugged and durable.  They are also pretty easy to work on.

So I was pretty happy when  I read Dmitry’s entry about Lenovo opting to abandon their attempts to “rebrand” the Thinkpad shell and keep what was familiar and, in my opinion, proven.

Lenovo, the Chinese company which purchased IBM’s PC division last year and has recently rebranded the ThinkPad line of notebooks, has indicated that its efforts to update the ThinkPad look and feel had not been well received by customers, and were likely to be abandoned.
