Leopard Anticipation: Back Up Your Files

October 26, 2007 by Juan Magdaraog

In anticipation for Leopard’s release and the eventual upgrade, here’s a valuable link from Apple support. You can do an archive and install which will preserve your apps and preferences when you install Leopard but that will also mean carrying over much of your junk from Tiger.

Personally when I upgrade to Leopard I’ll be doing a clean install. I’d like to start fresh and select the stuff that I want to restore. This will let me filter through all the stuff I don’t need.

I however will need to restore my Address book contacts, iCal, Mail and Keychain so the article “How to back up and restore your important Mac OS 10.4 files” from Apple support is a big help.
