Rookie running back LeSean McCoy has signed a contract with the Philadelphia Eagles that is four years in length. Picked in the second round, McCoy is expected to see action right away.
Considering that Brian Westbrook could be out for much of the exhibition season, McCoy will likely get a number of careers in the preseason. If he does well in preseason games, McCoy could even share carries with Westbrook — especially around the goal line.
Last year at Pittsburgh, McCoy had 1,488 rushing yards with 21 touchdowns. He also had 32 receptions for 305 yards. He had no fumbles on the season and his biggest game came against Rutgers when he had 146 rushing yards, 34 receiving yards and four touchdowns.
The Eagles have now only have one unsigned draft pick — Jeremy Maclin, their first round selection. The Eagles are hopeful that they can sign the wide receiver prior to the start of training camp.
