Liberty Aerospace Opens Fifth Sales Office
Liberty Aerospace, manufacturer of the FAA certified XL2 single-engine aircraft, has opened its fifth “factory direct” sales office in Chicago, IL. Aircraft will be available for demonstration flights at DuPage County Airport in West Chicago, IL beginning August 1.
Liberty also announced today that Joe Kirkwood will head up sales in the mid-west. Kirkwood, most recently with Tiger Aircraft, has over 20 years of sales experience, the last eight being general aviation sales. He is a 2,100 hour commercial pilot with a CFII rating and an A&P mechanics license. Kirkwood graduated Perdue University with a BS in Industrial Supervision.
The address of the new sales office is 1824 Baltimore Drive, Elk Grove Village, IL 60007. Demonstration flights in the Liberty XL2 can be arranged by contacting Kirkwood at (847) 524-4820.
According to Liberty President and CEO Anthony Tiarks, “Opening our fifth sales office will complete the first phase of our plan to offer the general aviation public access to a remarkable new two-seat aircraft. Along with our other offices in California, Texas, Maryland, and Florida, people across the United States now have the opportunity to take a demonstration flight in the Liberty XL2.”
The Liberty XL2 aircraft has been designed to meet the growing demand for a new generation, advanced two seat aircraft. It is the only production aircraft powered by a piston engine equipped with a full authority digital engine control (FADEC) which simplifies power management and provides greatly increased levels of safety, reliability and maintainability.
The Liberty XL2 also features a carbon fiber composite fuselage, a 48-inch wide cabin and cruise speeds of up to 132 knots (150 mph), burning only 5 gallons per hour. Base price of the aircraft is $139,900. Customer deliveries will begin shortly.
The XL2 is certified by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration under Part 23, with several foreign certifications scheduled for 2005.
