Local news via MappedUp

MappedUpLocal news is hot, and one very interesting Dutch start-up in that field is MappedUp. On this site they track a large number of RSS news sources and display the latest items on a world map, geographically and in real-time! Last week they went into public Beta and you can now register to further personalize the site. When you have an account you can specify specific RSS feeds and set tags (subjects) for the info you want to see on your MappedUp.

Next to the fact that the site looks way cool (AJAX), I also think that visualisation is very important. Visualisation could be critical to attract a large userbase, and that is important for RSS adoption right now…
