Earlier this month the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) partnered with InvestmentNews to provide and interactive tool to get your financial questions answered. “Ask the CPA” is an online discussion forum where readers can post their questions. CPAs with the Institute’s personal financial specialist (CPA/PFS) credential will respond. But time’s running out. The forum will run through December 31, 2008.

As an owner and officer of a corporation am i allowed to not receive wages for a calendar year and then receive a bonus the following calendar year in the amount of the wages I would have received had I taken wages the year before?

I am buying a house next month. I am divorced officially since last year, but was bought out of my share of the house in 2007. per my credit report, I have not been listed on a mortgge since 2003, when our old house was refinanced. we filed married, seperately in 2008. We claimed mortgge interest as a deduction untill then. since I am filing single next year, will I qualify for the 8000 dollat tax credit for buying a home?

    Thanks
    Tony

I own a small insurance agency in Florida. Given current market conditions, I am painfully considering letting go a couple of our younger producers. Given their lack of experience, they are paid advanced commissions in lieu production/premiums. They are w-2 employees. From a tax standpoint, is it possible I can write off their compensation as a bad allowance or other way(s). Look forward to your response.

I am a foreign non-american resident who recently started an e-business registery in delaware as a limited liability Company. I do have american customers buying services from my online store. I was told by a representative of the online incorporation company that in all tax returns should be made on a personal tax form. I am not american, i have never lived or worked in america, hence i currently do not make such returns! How do i go about making such returns, and do i have to?

I own a dry cleaners. I would like to purchase a used pickup and delivery van between now and the end of the year for about $5000. I would like to know if I can take the entire purchase price as a section 179 tax deduction for 2009.
