Look for These Deals for the Fall

With August drawing to a close, it’s time to start thinking about fall purchases. You are always better off if you plan ahead for spending. And it’s even better if you plan ahead, making your purchases based around what is likely to be on sale. Here are some things that you can expect to go on sale come autumn:76001515JS014_VIRGIN_AMERIC

  • Airfare: It’s the off-season, and airfare goes on sale. Bonus points if you travel on Wednesday (with the notable exception of the day before Thanksgiving).
  • Cars: Cars were already on sale due to the recession, but fall is when the new models roll out. So you can get deals on 2009 models as dealers try to clear them out for the 2010 models.
  • Appliances: New models of appliances often come in the fall. Bonus: Look for scratch and dent sales for even better discounts.
  • Grills: Summer grilling season is over, so you can get some good deals on the leftovers. Yum!
  • Plants: It’s not even fall yet, but my husband and I just bought a bunch of plants for our landscaping at 20% off. This is a good time to buy plants and get them in the ground.
