You have to love a site that helps do something good. Canadian Matt Prepost has made a blog to help connect people with their lost cameras or memory cards. Only a month old and it’s already making a big splash and has reunited people with their memories. From BlogHerald:

If you happen to find a camera, and believe that ‘what goes around comes around,’ you now have a venue to be a good Samaritan. I wish I had known about ifoundyourcamera earlier this week because I found a 32 meg SD card on the ferry. It had fallen between a couple seats so I tried to make it obvious…now I could have brought it home, sent in a couple of the pictures, and might have been able to get the pictures back to the owner.
Simple idea, simple implementation, potentially great results.

Saw the site some time last month. I find it really interesting to see various stories of people whose pictures have been found. :) Amazing.

I lost my camera. Its a new Sony Digicam W55 model which contains 2 gig of pictures and videos I took from my trip to the U.S.
I left it @ Japan airlines seat. I came back for it after 10 minutes and it was gone! I hope the person who took it could return it to me. The plane landed to Ninoy International Airport, Philippines with JAL flight no. 745 @ around 11pm of March 23,2008. Am not sure if this website could help me on this.

I lost my camera at Santa Cruz Island off the California coast in October 2004. It’s probably off the coast of Antarctica, now, but here goes!
My husband and I recently went to Italy and Paris to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary. We were there May 8-May 24, 2008. On May 20, 2008 we took the train from the Eiffel Tower station to Versailles and on our way back from Versailles our camera was left on the train by accident as we were to busy chatting it up some tourists. We took at least 600 photos of Rome, Florence, Venice, and Paris. We reported the camera missing but no one ever turned it in. It was a digital Kodak. This trip meant alot to us because it was our anniversary but we went to celebrate our love for each other. If anyone has seen these pictures or knows of someone who found this camera please contact or place the pictures on ifoundyourcamera.net. We cried when we realized our camera was missing. We have our memories but would love to have the sim card. I was always wearing a rose colored rain coat. There were pics. of the Sistine Chapel and all of Michaelangelo’s works on this card. Please help us.

I lost my Kodac EasyShare light grey camera in LA a little less than a month ago. It was in a black case that you can loop your belt through. Got a little drunk at a bar called Birds and when i woke the next morning i couldnt find my camera anywhere. I was staying at the bottom of the Hollywood sign. There are pictures from my trip to SF as well as everything i took on the tour of LA that morning. PLEASE if you find it contact me.
I lost my digital Canon Sure Shot camera and dark green carying case on Saturday, April 11, 2009 in Toledo, OH. The memory card is most important as it had many family pictures of grandchildren, father’s 89th birthday celebration and a beloved dog that has since died. Reward offered. No questions asked. I lost over 450 beautiful photos while taking a 2-week trip to Europe last March 08 – by leaving it in a Paris Taxi March 08 when we were let off at the Splendid Hotel. Pictures of St. Patrick’s Day in Ireland, London tours, Bath, Stonehenge, and some beautiful pics in Paris France of the Sacred Heart Church, Notre Dame, Arc De Triumph and the hotel we stayed Splendid Hotel. I went to see Oasis at Heaton Park in Manchester on Sunday 7th June and somehow managed to lose my camera; it is a Kodak Easyshare, silver in colour, possibly the c330 make (not entirely certain on that) and has many pictures on from the day that I would like to have back more so than the camera. I would be extremely grateful to have even only the memory card with the images on returned, they might not look like much but they are very sentimental to me and it would mean A LOT to have them back, and a decent reward is being offered for the finding and return of it!!!!!!! Please get in touch if you happened to be there and come across it, or have recently been given a camera that has pictures on it of two girls, one of them is blonde, and some guys on it, in what might look like a pub or outdoors and at a concert. We left out Casio Camera in black carry case in a taxi travelling from CDG aiport Paris to Hotel Champlain, 99 Bis Rue de Rome. The driver double parked and we were in a rush to get our luggage out and cross the busy road. Anyone found it please?
I found this website by ‘accident’ while ’searching’ for lost and found websites after leaving my son’s rainjacket on a train yesterday. I lost a digital camera in Riyadh in 2003, I think it was. No, I’m not expecting to find it now but I think this website needs more publicity. Maybe someone needs to put a link on their Facebook page or something, so the word spreads…

We lost our Camera in Sol Melia in Cayo Santa Maria.
it was in a brown carrying case.
There was One Cuban Peso in the case as well.
We had the camera up August 1st around noon/lunchtime.

A Fuji FinePx E550 Camara in black carring case with red stripe was lost at Kona International Airport, Hawaii on 7-31-09. We were flying with Hawaiian Airlines from gate 9 at 4:45 p.m.. There was only about 3 min. from the time I made a picture until we missed it. We tried to find it before plane left to no avail. You may have the camara no questions ask, but please return our memory card with 457 pictures of a vacation of a lifetime.

On Saturday, August 8, 2009 at about 2:20 A.M. I took a taxi (ace taxi van cab) from the Embassy Grand in Brampton to Maple/Woodbridge. I left my light green canon camera in the very back seat of the van. It has a black strap and no carrying case with a kodak memory card with over 1000 pictures which are very dear to me. PLEASE return my camera to me if found. :( Thank you to anyone in advance!
I left my sister’s blue Canon camera in a neon green case on a Southwest airplane on August 9th, 2009. It was flight 2887 Columbus – Nashville and landed in Phoenix, it went onto Vegas for the night. It was about 5 rows back, window seat, on the right side facing the cockpit. There are San Diego beach/family vaca, moving to Tucson, little boys at McDonald’s and wedding pictures from Ohio on it. I was in Corfu, Greece for 8 days in august 2009 for my holidays. In my last day there, I lost my photo camera with all my pictrures.
The pictures were from kavos, the Erofili hotel and swimming pool, paxos, antipaxos and blue lagoon, with the scooter, the ATV ….
The camera was lost between corfu town and kavos.
I do not care so much about the camera …. but the pictures were great … If anybody find at least the memory card .. it would be great.

I had my camera lost (or stolen) in Cayo las Brujas – Cuba. It was a Nikon Coolpix P3. Don’t care about the camera, but I lost around 300 pics taken in 15 days around Cuba..
We found a Casio Exilim EX-Z150 on 7th September 2009 in Paris.
We found it in front of the entrance of the Musée de l’Armèe at the Hotel des Invalides.

I lost my small black camera case with a 4GB memory card inside the zipper pocket in Maui Hawaii at the Mahana at Kannapali or on the Road to Hana around Oct 1, 2009. Just found this website and i have got my fingers and toes crossed that somebody can help me……I lost my camera today somewhere between Chicago O’Hare airport and London Heathrow Terminal 1. I left Chicago at 7pm on a United airways flight on 31st October and landed in London on 1st November at 8am in Terminal 1. I only realised i lost it when i got home. Its a silver Pentax digital in a black case. It has about 500 pictures of the perfect honeymoon i had just had with my husband in Vegas, Hawaii and San Francisco. I’m devasted that i’ve lost it so if you find it please let me know, i will be eternally grateful. Thank you.
