Love Potion #9 will Steal Your Heart

Love Potion #9-a well known part of American culture with movies, songs and now a spirit named after it.

When I received my cute little samples in the mail, I had the distinct feeling that I had raided the mini-bar at a hotel and that I was going to be charged $10 a bottle. I opened one of the little guys up and took a sniff.

Very fruity.

Fearing a tongue scalding alcohol taste, I girded my loins and took a sip. My first thought was “medicine”. Because of that I had my reservations about the elixir. Being the brave soul that I am and wanting to ensure that you only drink the best, I tossed some ice in my high ball glass, poured the Love Potion #9 over the cubes and then topped it off with a Diet Pepsi. I sniffed the concoction and as the carbonation tickled my cute little ski slope nose, I was pleasantly surprised that the odor had changed to a more sophisticated hint of fruit aroma-as sophisticated as you can get with Diet Pepsi.

One cautious sip later and I was hooked.

Extremely smooth. Not too frou-frou. Enough flavor so that you know you’re drinking something other than soda but not so strong that you fear you’ll start sweating the stuff. After a small amount, pleasant warmth had spread to my extremities and though I can’t say that Love Potion #9 caused me to rip my bodice and ravish my husband, it did put me in a happy mood.

Dislikes:

• LOTS of fruit when consumed alone

Likes:

• Smooth
• Sneaky strong-60 proof but doesn’t taste like it
• Goes great with a dark cola-my mixer of choice
• Tastes wonderful on fruit-I poured some on some strawberries just for the hell of it and yum!

Bottom line:

Glad to have tried it and would spend my own cash to buy Love Potion #9.
