Luck Re-visited

Just over a week ago I wrote about luck. That was part of a ‘theme day’ with my colleagues on the b5media Business channel. I had every intention of making reference on the day to the other posts on the subject. That was about when “one of those weeks” started where with the best of intentions not everything gets done.

So today I finally got around to checking out the “summarizing” post on the subject by Rico Mossesgeld at Contract Worker - Luck = Preparation + Opportunity. There is a neat summary and link for each of the posts. Typically, given the range of expertise and interests in the group, there is a valuable set of insights for anyone wanting to figure out how to “get lucky” with their business.

Rico summed it up nicely:

There’s nothing mystical about luck. Your success in finding “luck” doesn’t depend on the alignment of stars or a rabbit’s foot, but rather on a readiness to maximize openings.

And I liked his quote from the inimitable Brian Tracy:

I’ve found that luck is quite predictable. If you want more luck, take more chances. Be more active. Show up more often.
