MacBook Pro Video Sessions

So prior to Carlo and I creating the 2 iSight video test, he decided he wanted to do some videos of him testing out his new Macbook Pro. He wanted to show people what the Macbook Pro was capable of in real world examples. Sure, benchmarks are good but to an average person like me those are just numbers with very little meaning. I want to know how a computer will fare with “real” world apps in “real” world situations.

Carlo made two videos (video 1, video 2) which he posted on YouTube. You can also read about the complete details of what he was doing here.

In a nutshell, the Macbook Pro rocks. Carlo was able to record the whole session with Apple Quicktime with Adium, iTunes, Parallels Desktop, Apple Mail, NetNewsWire, Firefox and xTorrent open all at the same time while doing what these apps are intended to do without skipping a beat. Coming from a Powerbook G4, this rocks. Watching his video, I could really see that the Intel Core 2 Duo is a bad ass chip able to run circles around the G4. As it should since the G4 is several years old. Now I really want a Macbook Pro.

Go check out the vids.
