Here’s a tool to try for web workers, the SeeFile file sharing tool.
Most remote workers need to access files anytime, anywhere to do some presentation and client’s project update. Personally, I maintain an FTP server to do regular backup and upload updates for my clients. Sometimes, when I am on a rush to setup my FTP, I usually upload my files via email as draft to have a copy of my important files. With this, I can access it anytime and anywhere. It may sound so “classic” but it’s effective but not that efficient. Although, I sometimes use flash drives to bring my files with me. That’s it.
After monitoring for some MacWorld produtive tool releases, I found SeeFile. It’s a productivity tool for small business which can bring business to a more productive approach. Here’s a quick product overview:
Seefile software transforms your Mac into a web server, allowing you
to share your media files online and stay in constant communication with
your customers and/or coworkers. Seefile includes an elegant web interface
with advanced collaboration tools:
- Upload and download files from any web browser. You can replace your obsolete FTP server with an elegant web portal. No software is required on the client side.
- Increase your workflow productivity with an easy and efficient way to communicate with your customers. Seefile offers the possibility to annotate an area of an image as well.
- Get approval from your customers: If you give them permission, your customers can approve your creation in one click.
- Seefile generates thumbnails and previews automatically. Some of the supported files are PDF, EPS, JPEG, GIF, TIFF, PNG, PICT, PSD, BMP, HTML, DWF, Flash, QuickTime videos, and more.
You can try their online demo or download a free trial version of SeeFile.
