Two of the best things about being a bloggerette:
1) Some of you are indeed amused by our daily thoughts, which makes us all warm inside. (That poses a threat to our normally frozen solid heart, but it’s an occupational hazard with which we’re willing to contend.)
2) Sometimes we’re invited to do cool things like product reviews. Yay!
Let’s go with the flow on #2. My husband (blog code name: The Bee) and I recently sampled the Schick Quattro Titanium Trimmer for men–and you can nab one for free, too (see below).
Did a little WTF pass through your mind upon noting that we *both* tried it? Thanks to handy chick mags like Allure, this bloggerette learned long ago that men’s razors rock.
The Bee and I each tried the Schick Quattro Titanium Trimmer, which has a four-blade razor, an edging tool, and a trimmer, for a week. Here’s our review:
His Take
Pros: Razor provided a nice, close shave; the edging tool was great; razor head flexibility was excellent for getting into tricky-to-shave areas at unusual angles.
Cons: The handle, though comfortable, was bulky and heavy; it wasn’t clear from the packaging whether the motor was used for the razor, trimmer, or both.
Overall: A very good razor, though not good enough to make The Bee switch from his current razor of choice. The razor head isn’t powered like that of a competing razor, and the extra weight of the trimmer is unnecessary if, like The Bee, you don’t have facial hair. However, men with facial hair may like this razor’s multi-tasking abilities.
Her Take
Pros: Blade provided a pretty good shave; razor head angle was very user-friendly; handle was comfortable and useful for the shower whilst juggling various shower items between hands (that’s figuratively, people)
Cons: For a chicklet, the edging tool and trimmer aren’t necessary–and thus neither is the “power” feature.
Overall: Very good, but not good enough to make me switch from my current razor (a non-multitasking men’s razor) for two reasons. First, the razor isn’t superior to the one I have in terms of shave quality. Second, the “extras” really are geared for men. All in all this is a very good razor and the only one that shaves, edges, and trims . . . but it’s just not one with “crossover” appeal.
