There are very few people who haven’t “experimented” with marijuana at least at one point of their early life and there are still people that use it late into their lives…well, because they like to. I “experimented” a bit during my high school years and even took some chances “experimenting” the first few years when I was in the Marine Corps. Luckily I never got caught on a urinalysis. When I got married I stopped because I now had a family and needed to start being more responsible. If I got caught, I would be out of a job and would endanger my family and I wasn’t about to do that. After my Army years, when I got out and didn’t have to worry about urine tests, I tried it again after about 9 years without. I wasn’t impressed and really didn’t like it, so needless to say those years a long behind me and I never could figure out why it used to be fun back then.
According to the people that have the job of wasting time and money testing THC levels in Marijuana instead of having a functional job such as finding cures for diseases, THC levels are the highest they have ever been in marijuana. read on…
Marijuana is more potent than at any time since scientific analysis of the drug began in the 1970s, according to a report from the University of Mississippi’s Potency Monitoring Project. The average amount of THC in marijuana, the primary psychoactive ingredient in the drug, was tested at 9.6% –more than double the potency of marijuana in 1983.
“The increases in marijuana potency are of concern since they increase the likelihood of acute toxicity, including mental impairment,” Dr. Nora Volkow, director of the National Institute on Drug Abuse, says in a news release. “Particularly worrisome is the possibility that the more potent THC might be more effective at triggering the changes in the brain that can lead to addiction; however, more research is needed to establish this link between higher THC potency and higher addiction risk.”
Marijuana more potent than ever
It amazing how they put so much time and effort into analyzing a drug like marijuana when there are just more important and worse drugs out there…that are legal. Alcohol kills more people that marijuana does and it’s legal and there are labels on the bottle that tell you how drunk you’re going to get. You can walk into a liqueur store, mosey on down the line and decide if your going to get half buzzed off of Boone’s Farm or obliterated by Everclear. There is so much useless research that goes on all over the world when these people could be putting their minds to good use and searching for cures and causes of diseases…or just something else useful.
Somewhere, some stoners reading the root article, nodding his head saying “Hell Yeah!, gotta get me some of that!”
