Mark Cuban, the owner of the Dallas Mavericks who made his billions online, recently had had some complaints about Twitter. At Cuban’s Twitter, Twitter.com/mcuban, he talked about how he thinks some aspects of Facebook are better than Twitter. He also talked about what is killing MySpace.
Here are some of the latest thoughts on Mark Cuban’s Twitter:
-”Blocking venomous idiots. Shame twitter doesnt require real names. FB fan pages dont have same problem”
-”Twitter becoming the Myspace of micromessaging. People creating unlimited accts, gaming numbers, gaming comments while FB pages improve”
-”except with so many fake and dead accounts, followers is not really a true indication of anything”
-”Thats what we get now with no real identity on Twitter”
-”FB is far from perfect, but at least they try to enforce real identities. I think the lack of identity is what is killing myspace”
For those in the marketing world, his complaints could help construct a marketing campaign. According to numerous online marketers, the anonymity of Twitter can be exploited and those exploits are just now coming to the surface. The result is that many marketing experts believe that Twitter’s shortcoming makes it not as appealing to marketers as Facebook is at the moment.
