The teams are now set for Super Bowl XLIII. The Pittsburgh Steelers will take on the Arizona Cardinals in Tampa Bay on February 1, 2009. For many people, some of the best parts of Super Bowl Sunday are the commercials.
With companies paying ridiculous amounts for advertising during the game (not to mention some of the spots being incredibly funny), people are always speculating and commenting on Super Bowl commercials.
Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management marketing professors Tim Calkins and Derek Rucker have created a blog to offer insights on this year’s advertising trends.
The blog is the newest addition to the Kellogg School’s Super Bowl Advertising Review, run by Calkins and Rucker. On game night, Kellogg marketing students will rank the best and worst Super Bowl commercials of the year using the only scale that utilizes academic criteria, such as marketing and brand-building effectiveness. Professors Calkins and Rucker will be blogging during and after the game as well.
