Most businesses, large and small, have realized the value of connecting with their customer base via the internet. You may have a corporate or e-commerce website associated with your business, but you should also considering have a blog.
With a business blog, you can inform readers of new products and industry news, as well as encourage customer feedback and concerns. Customers want to get to know the company they are dealing with and a blog is a great format to do so.

Don’t use a hosted blog platform such as Blogger, TypePad or WordPress.com. Instead, place your blog on your business domain or set it up on a domain of its own.
Don’t make readers register to comment. Generally, you want to make it as convenient as possible to interact. People are lazy – make it simple.
Make your RSS button visible and above the fold. Many visitors would rather read through an RSS feeder or subscribe to RSS by email, rather than visit the site every day.
Don’t overdo it on the ads. Everyone is out to make a buck or two, but don’t litter your business blog with tons of contextual ads, pop-ups or flashing banners.
Update the blog regularly. Nothing turns off visitors more than stale content. If you don’t have time to update the blog daily, hire someone can.
Get active in social networking and bookmarking. Establish accounts and participate with Twitter, LinkedIn and other social networking sites. Also use social bookmarking websites such as Digg, StumbleUpon and others to promote your blog posts.

Good point, just one thing. The reason you should keep commenting simple is not because people are not lazy – they are busy. Maybe commenting on your precious business blog is not nº1 priority if you pretend that to take more time than it should.
