For at least the last few seasons, wide receiver has been a position of weakness for the Tennessee Titans. Going into the 2009 NFL season, the Titans are still lacking at wide receiver. However, it appears as if Tennessee will be getting help soon.

Matt Jones, formerly of the Jacksonville Jaguars, will reportedly visit the Titans on Thursday. According to Alan Herman, Jones’ agent, a deal with Tennessee could be completed any minute.

“We’re ready to go and get a deal done, and we’re optimistic we will,” said Herman, according to ESPN.com. “Matt is in outstanding shape, he’s ready to go, and we think Tennessee would be a great fit.”

Last season, Jones had 65 receptions for 761 yards and two touchdowns. The 6-foot-6 former college football quarterback at Arkansas set career-highs in both of those categories with the Jaguars in 2008.

Jones has been in trouble with the law in recent years. In June of 2008, he was arrested and found with cocaine and marijuana residue. In March of 2009, he was arrested after a drug test showed that he had alcohol in his system. After this second arrest, the Jaguars decided to cut ties with Jones.
