Matt Leinart gets his start

NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.

Matt LeinartMatt Leinart got things going with a 54 yard drive ending in a field goal for the Arizona Cardinals. Unfortunately, it was against New England, and they went on to not only stomp the Cardinals, but make Matt look like the rookie he is.

After being the last player selected in the first round to sign (for a reputed 51 mill at 6 years), it was a much anticipated debut. Leinart shows the glimmers of having the stuff, but it is still the NFL, and rookies are rookies.

Just don’t know what it is, he is not fast and his arm is not the greatest, but Matt Leinart can read a defense and seems to go relatively unscathed by the defense. Your intrepid writer thinks he will be a good one. Definitely one to watch. Definitely a chance to be a star in this league.

NFL Football Fan Question Although he will be groomed by playing behind Kurt Warner, Matt has the stuff to be great. Can Arizona surround him with enough players?
