Matthew McConaughey teaches Life, while Peyton Manning teaches Quarterback

NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.

The Colts destroy the Bengals 34 – 16.

Matthew McConaughey in We Are Marshall

Matthew McConaughey

Matthew McConaughey showed up in the Monday night booth to discuss the “We are Marshall” football movie. The movie is a life lesson on how to get back up when life knocks you down. It is a strong message about being driven and consistent is what you do.

Matthew McConaughey was… sitting next to Tony Kornheiser. After Matthew left, Tony he joked about pasting Matthew’s head on a picture of his body while standing next to Joe Theismann. Then Tony would look better than Joe. Joe replied that it would still be Matthew’s head. Ouch!

Paging Dr. Peyton Manning

There are times that watching Peyton Manning and the Colts on offense will lull you to sleep. It is an operation taking place on the field and Peyton is the surgeon. He throws precise passes that the defense allows and he does it over and over. Finally you are caught looking and Marvin Harrison has caught a touchdown or 3 to be precise.

Carson Palmer’s picture found on Milk Carton

Cincinnati needed this game, which makes it all the more puzzling. They came out flat and stayed flat. They tried to run, because defending the run is Indy’s weakness. Indy stopped them. They played soft cover 2 with no pass rush to speak of, and Indy threw the ball all over the place.

How could they not be ready?

Peyton was 29 of 36 for 282 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Carson Palmer was 14 of 28 and no touchdowns. Carson had Dwight Freeney practically taking handoffs in the backfield, as he had 3 sacks on the night and several times forced Carson to pass early or hear footsteps.

Wait a minute, Cincy could not pass and could not run. Hey, thought Indy had no defense? Could we be talking Super Bowl again?

NFL Side note on Terrell Owens The NFL fined Terrell 35,000 dollars for spitting in the face of DeAngelo Hall of the Falcons. Frankly, if it had been anyone else than Terrell the NFL might have baked them a cake. No one likes DeAngelo Hall on the football field. But, Terrell never invited the commissioner to his birthday bash, so he was still upset.

Injury to Joseph Addai

Chris Berman is at it again with a great nickname for rookie Joseph Do or Let Addai. Unfortunately Joseph had a high ankle sprain and had to be removed from the game. That kind of injury can be slow to heal.

So the Colts battle for supremacy and Cincy has to go to Denver to hang onto a playoff berth.

NFL Football Fan Question So, we have to ask, is Indy back in the hunt for the Super Bowl?

As always, any NFL Football related comments are welcome.

  1. [...] loved the movie The Wedding Planner with Jennifer Lopez and Matthew McConaughey and thought it really showed off J-Lo’s comedic skills. It’s one of her best roles. [...]
