Mayor Bloomberg Wants To Thank New Yorkers For Term Limit Extension

Proposes Up To 15% Hike In Income Tax, Reneges On Property Tax Rebate and Looks To Hire More Meter Maids

Mayor Bloomberg said he would look to thank New Yorkers for being railroaded allowing him to run for a third term by taking steps to make sure only multi-millionaire mayors can afford to live in the city.

In addition to reneging on a previously agreed upon tax rebate, Bloomberg promised (for what that’s worth) to make sure New York would continue to be home to the country’s highest personal tax rate.

“We don’t want to get caught by surprise and have some other city challenge our number one status,” Bloomberg said, “By quadrupling what is already the nation’s highest tax rate, we’ll assure that won’t happen.”

In addition, the mayor will look to cut 1,000 police officers and at the same time hire an additional 200 meter maids to increase traffic ticket revenues.

A spokesman for the mayor defended the plan and suggested that the entire police force could be trained to inspect restaurants for code violations as well as focus on handing out more tickets for littering.

“Let’s face it, rape and murder don’t bring in any revenue,” said the spokesman. “In the current fiscal crisis, we’ll look at anything that brings in money so we don’t have to cut spending on our dysfunctional school and transportation systems.”
