McCain’s Clean Car Challenge

I’m not a John McCain supporter, but one thing I could look forward to if he were to be selected is his Clean Car Challenge.

If elected, McCain plans to instate a program called the Clean Car Challenge, which will have a prize of $300 million to go to the auto manufacturer who makes the first battery that “leapfrogs” current electric and hybrid cars.

McCain also promises a $5,000 tax credit for any consumer who buys this new car. In fact, McCain is proposing tax credits for everyone, saying, “The lower the carbon emissions, the higher the tax credit.”

Hopefully, this will help inspire auto manufacturers to put even more time and money into zero-emissions research and development.

You can read more about McCain’s plans and car technologies here.
