If you have taken a vacation this year then you know that when you return you have to play catch-up for a few days with your projects and clients. Sometimes this can be hectic and other times it may even take you a while to catch-up. This may leave you wondering why you decided to take a vacation in the first place.

Just know that as a business owner, vacations are a way for you to destress and also to take a break from the pressures of your business. So when you are back from vacation, having a plan in place to deal with “bouncing back”, is a good thing to have.
Below are 5 key points to keep in mind when developing a “bounce back” plan for when you come back from vacation:
- Plan Ahead. Have a plan in place that will help you transition back into your work day.
- Transition phase. Make sure thatto include in your plan a couple of extra days for your vacation coverage to stay in place so that you will have a good amount of time to transition things back to you.
- Prioritize tasks. Determine the order in which you will handle your daily task so that you won’t get overwhelmed (i.e., phone calls, emails).
- Selah moments. Remember to take several mini-breaks throughout the first couple of days so that you can get back used to working.
- Transition mind. Give yourself time to transition your mind back into the working frame of mind.
As you keep all of these points in mind, you should be able to make a smooth transition back into your business working days quickly. If you have points or tips of how you transition back into working after being on vacation, please feel free to share them.
