Mentos Kiss Cam

Mentos are playing around with cool tools to go with their cool mints. They’re leveraging webcams to get you to interact with onscreen characters at Mentos Kiss Cam. (beware sound). The premise is simple, choose your desired gender, hand them a mint and then kiss them through the screen. By the example, you have to get pretty up close and personal to get the onscreen character to interact, so I would not try this is too public a space!

I’ve not seen anything else around this campaign, so not sure how the ‘mentos makes your mouth tingle’ message works in other media, but this is definitely a case of the brand and agency trying something cool. 02 in the UK had a pretty good execution with the Rugby World Cup last year and this is just a variation on that theme. although this is far more embarassing…or funny, depending on your point of view. They’re increasing their online discussion though. as technorati shows.
