He’s being marketed as “the greatest Olympic athlete of all time.” And why not? He’s won an astounding eight gold medals. Eight. It’s uncanny. It’s unfathomable. It’s something Mark Spitz thought would never happen.
So what does Michael Phelps have to say about this amazing accomplishment?
Well, he summed it up in three sentences. 
He told the press:
1. He’s speechless …
2. He owes it all to his mom …
And 3. He loves his country.
